Believe Nothing. No matter where you
saw it, or who said it, unless it agrees with
your own reason and own common sense.
The music of intonal is a wonderful ensemble of intoxicating global sounds and optimistic lyrics. With frequent listening, it is designed to help improve your emotional well being and develop the positive thoughts harboured deep within your subconscious mind. It can be used on a personal level for stress management or in conjunction with physical exercise. Our primary goal is to promote well being and develop self awareness through music.
What you listen to can impact upon how you feel. Noise pollution can create serious stress, along with measurable negative effects. Soothing sounds can have the opposite effect and make you feel more relaxed. Today, music is not only for dancing and exercising, but therapeutically relieving pain, decreasing stress and bringing other positive benefits, with astonishing success.
“Dance with Gratitude” provides a simple and powerful way in which you can use words and music to enhance your surroundings. Why not create the well being you’d like to feel inside and promote a positive mood in those around you? The album’s calming tempos will automatically create relaxed feelings, whilst the livelier songs can energize you when you’re feeling lethargic.
Why not play “Dance with Gratitude” when you travel to work, clean the house, have dinner, enjoy a friends company? Get into the habit of playing the album to passively relieve stress. Use it to redirect patterns of negative thought into positive channels and shift your consciousness. It can help raise your mood and consequently, your vibration. The instrumental versions might establish a conducive atmosphere for prayer, meditation or relaxation. It may also diffuse undesirable energies of people around you… first track >
9. I’m there
“Quantum Flight” came into existence because we wanted to write an intonal song that could be enjoyed by the younger clubbing communities. Something current, something dance-floor savvy, and yet, still in line with the intonal philosophy. The beat and music led the track, with a universal story that almost all youngsters can connect with… living the dream! Marina felt a connection to the song and “insisted” that she record it. Her interpretation delivers a lovesick, sophisticated raunchiness.
If you’re feeling stuck, you’re not alone! But people feel stuck for different reasons. It could be a relationship that no longer works, and they don't know how to break it up. You could be dreaming of your own business, but just don’t know where to begin. This feeling of being stuck, is familiar to most of us. Even though our lives seem to be in constant motion, very little of that motion actually takes us forward. And we feel STUCK!
But getting unstuck isn’t as difficult as you might think. The best way to get started is by using the proper tools and re-directing your focus. Try finding help, look on the internet for questions, exercises, programs, processes, support groups, coaches, and so on.
As humans, we use tools to create our universe. For example, learning and using the alphabet, pens, paper or computers allows us to write letters and books. Becoming unstuck, changing our lives, manifesting desires is achieved by learning and using tools of the mind, the Law of Attraction, positive thinking, new belief patterns and taking action!
What can you do to improve your life today? How can you alleviate your frustrations? Write down a few steps that can practically move you forwards toward change. And begin to take action. It doesn’t have to be big steps. Small ones are fine, but get started.
Nobody has to stay stuck in a joyless and boring life. It’s simply necessary to recognize the signs that show it’s time to make a change, and sometimes those small, baby, quantum changes lead to a new life. Change the direction of your life by one degree and you can be in a
different place in one day, one week, one month, one year from now.
Unlike any other song on the album, “Choose to be Happy” was written around the title. We knew that we wanted to write something which would appeal to a wider audience, with a fun, holiday feeling with personal development content. We wanted a song that would remind everyone how easy it is to be happy, no matter what! The rhythm of reggae seemed to offer a perfect starting point to explore from. Emile personalised the track, adding further harmonic levels with appropriate nuances.
Happiness is a choice. Until you absolutely comprehend that you are responsible for every thought that you have, you may find this statement hard to believe. To be successful, you’ll need to make a conscious decision to increase your happiness and work on it every day. Make it your personal intention to be happy, no matter what. Decide to consciously choose uplifting behaviour throughout your day, which will lead to happiness.
If you set goals, why not make happiness your primary goal for the day. Choose to take advantage of opportunities around you and learn how to be happy. Actively think about what beliefs and values you will need to have to achieve this. Learn self-management skills, interpersonal skills, career-related skills, communication skills and become aware of your emotions and actions.
What makes you happy? When was the last time you had some fun? If nothing springs to mind, it’s time to sit down and plan some fun in your calendar. It doesn’t have to be outlandish or expensive, but it must be something you’ll look forward to. Begin to organize days out, do something you love; a game of golf, a comedy film at the cinema, visit a museum, go to the gym, take the kids out on their bicycles or go for a picnic.
Happiness has a magnetic power. We all want to be around joyful people. We find ourselves naturally gravitating to people that smile regularly. And these same happy, smiling people, often have enthusiastic personalities which leads to an abundance of friends and invitations. Smiling calms your emotional discomfort and distress, so do yourself a favour and smile at every person you can.
Don’t wait for others to offer whatever it may be that makes you happy. Identify what it is and ask those around you to provide it when possible.
Music can be enjoyed in a multitude of ways, and undoubtedly, dance is an inherent extension of song, a physical interpretation and expression of the beat and rhythm itself. Consequently, it seemed essential for us to create a dance tune for a vocalist. It’s about feeling good, being on the vibration you experience when in love. At our first rehearsal with Marina, we knew that we had found the perfect singer when she added a multitude of harmonic layers.
Everything in the universe vibrates. Every word, thought, book, song, emotion and person resonates at a frequency which can be measured. Laughter has a higher frequency than crying. Classical music has a higher frequency than hard rock. Happiness is higher than sadness.
When you’re vibrating on a higher frequency, you’ll feel as if everything is being magnetised straight to you. As if your life is in harmony with the world. At lower frequencies, dis-ease becomes apparent. A person can experience struggle, victimisation, shame, anger, guilt and separation.
By achieving an incredibly high frequency, we vibrate at faster speeds. And this in turn helps us to radiate love. It raises the consciousness of all those you touch, with your energy field. When really high harmonic-frequency is introduced to the body, the negative, low frequency stuff must surface. And then it can be healed. Unfortunately, if lifestyle, beliefs, fears, and judgments don't change, the higher frequency can't be maintained.
When you’re riding a positive vibe, you’re thinking, is empowering and you tend to get more of what you want in life. You will feel happiness at much deeper levels. Essentially, thoughts which vibrate at a higher level are most likely to be strong, positive and healthy thoughts. Whereas thoughts which vibrate at a lower level are more likely to be negative, harmful and dis-empowering.
When you’re enjoying these good vibes, you’ll find yourself laughing more and not taking life so seriously. You’ll be happy in the present moment, and you won’t waste time and energy, wishing you were doing something else. More importantly, you’ll be motivated to achieve your goals and feel happier and joyous. Good vibes are the way to go!
Although “Believe in Yourself” is the first song on the album, it was the fourth song to be written and more importantly, it was the first song that we wrote with a theme and a series of affirmations in mind. Prior to this, the music came first. This tune has a great beat and bounces along infectiously. Believing in yourself can, not only lead to a life filled with fun, joy and adventure, but it can be the first step toward turning your life around and becoming all that you want to be.
Thoughts are powerful things and whatever you put your attention on will grow. Consequently, if you think negatively your life can spiral downward. In the same way that a negative thought can be harmful, positive ones are incredibly rewarding and powerful. An excellent tool for taking charge of your life and generating positive beliefs is the use of affirmations, and they are free of charge to create… anyone can do it!
There are plenty of books available on this subject and many coaches have published information on the internet. Each author and coach will suggest their own guidelines, however, there are four essential principles which are congruent with all of them.
1. Your affirmations should be stated in the present tense. Start your positive statement with words such as “I am" or "I have". You must be telling your mind that it is happening right now. "I am happy now" is a stronger message than "I am becoming happy" or "I will be happy".
2. Affirmations should be stated in positive terms. "I am abundant" works but the affirmation "I am not poor" does the opposite of what you want. It focuses your mind on the word "poor" and increases that feeling.
3. Keep the affirmations brief, but specific. One sentence is enough, but it can’t be vague. Include specific emotions and actions, for example “I am feeling the love of my family by spending more time with them”.
4. Write your affirmations as if you were talking to a friend. Don’t try to be especially clever or poetic. Your mind will have difficulty accepting affirmations that don’t ring true and this is why many people feel as if they are lying to themselves.
“Change Your Thinking” was the second song written for this project. It was crafted around the percussion instruments. With, or without words, we wanted the beat, the rhythm, the vibe of the song to make the listener feel good, tap their feet, move their body, lift their mood, feel inspired. The message is perhaps the most important one within the album. The moment you come to the realisation that your world is created by your thoughts, you will be in control of your life.
This is the most important and life changing precept you can apply to your life! Where you are today is the direct result of what you have thought and your subsequent beliefs are what pilot your actions. When you know that you are responsible for your life, it means that you are creating the results that you experience, whether they are positive or negative. If you are responsible for creating the results, you can begin to steer your life in the direction of your dreams.
The moment that this knowledge permeates your subconscious mind and you absolutely comprehend that the manner in which you act and re-act in response to any and every event will determine the end result, you become wholly responsible for your own life. You will never blame anyone else or come up with excuses for anything again.
In life, there are only three things you can completely control. Your thoughts, the images you visualize, and your actions. It takes total dedication to change your thoughts, but you will then have complete control over your life. Despite this being a simple concept, it is easier said than done. You’ll have a lifetime of habits and thought processes to break and rebuild, and this takes time and effort. But it is only a decision away.
You decide what and just how much you eat, how much tv you watch, how hard you work, how much time you spend with your family, whether or not you educate yourself. You decide who you socialize with, what books you read, how much time you spend on the internet. The moment you become
responsible for everything in your life, then you will have taken control. Avoid being around moaners and blamers, they’re infectious and dislike change.
This track came out of the blue! It wasn’t planned. There were no plans for sorrowful, melancholic songs on the album. But on this particular day that’s how we felt, and we expressed those emotions in sound. We loved the vexed guitar and began to work with it’s mournful, anguished, even distressed sounds. We decided to address an issue which may be painful for some listeners. However, having the courage to face your fears, could be the turning point for your life.
Fear can be a very debilitating and treacherous emotion. Is there something difficult in your life that you are avoiding? Is there something buried deep inside you, that you never want to talk about because the pain could be overwhelming? If you refuse to deal with it, you are allowing it to grow and fester inside. It’s like a bad disease and could even bring physical dis-ease! You must face, what isn’t working.
You’re not alone. There are many people who run away from their problems and never face them. They run from people they don’t like or have harmed them in some way, or they avoid places which may trigger a reaction and remind them of bad memories. The big one which most people run away from, is the past!
Most people will prefer to take the easy way out and stroll down the comfortable “Path of Least Resistance”. If, however, you find the courage to face your fears, your problems, your life challenges and attack them head on, you will become a stronger person and grow spiritually too. Often, when you face your fears, most of them will go away?
By first getting rid of your personal baggage, which can be carried around your home, just drop everything and never pick it up again. This alone, can bring about dramatic change. If you want to enjoy your dream life with health, abundance and the success that you deserve, you must learn to face your fears.
Fear is often a figment of our imagination. It was never real to begin with and certainly can’t hurt you. But our minds have the ability to make False Expectations Appear Real and these can be holding us back from lots of things?
This was the first intonal song written. It was an incredible day, because prior to this “investigation” we had no idea how we were going to find our sound, our beat, our vibe. We didn’t know what to expect and joined each other with open minds, knowing that we wanted to write music which felt uplifting and later add positive messages. It was amazing from the start. The music came easily and with our first song written, we knew that we would be able to follow our bliss.
Asking is the easy part! It’s a bit like praying from something. We all know what we want in our lives, but are we doing anything about it, and more importantly, do we believe that we can have it? Buddha said, “All that we are, is a result of what we have thought.” What you are thinking right now, and more importantly, what you believe right now, is helping to create your future. What you think about most often, will appear in your life.
So what does it take to truly believe? It’s a complex answer, but in a nutshell, personal awareness. Most people are not conscious of what they actually believe. They rarely question it or examine it, but simply take their thoughts for granted. Conventional wisdom suggests that most people are only aware of 10% of their beliefs, leaving an amazing 90% in the subconscious mind. So how do you “Ask, Believe and Receive”, if 90% of what you believe is limiting beliefs, conflicting values and suppressed fears that you don’t even know about?
Only a small amount of effort is required to become conscious of what you really believe and it’s free to do! Simply THINK! Throughout your day just think about everything you do and why. Self awareness needs to become a habit which will replace your auto-pilot, the non-thinking parts, of your day. By increasing your self awareness, you will naturally tap into your subconscious mind, instead of being led by the conscious and habitual thought patterns you currently live.
To receive, you simply need to feel good about the arrival of your desires. Feel it now, as if it had already arrived, get into the frequency of having it. It’s about having trust, knowing that the
Universe will bring it to you. This is age old wisdom… “Whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” - Matthew 21:22.
“From Within” marks the growth and expansion of the intonal team, because it is our first track to enjoy a wind instrument. We had always imagined horns being on the album and plan to take this even further on the next project. It brings a smooth jazz edge to this catchy dance track. The lyrics are particularly important because they discuss the relevance of spirituality more than any other song on the album. Meditation is a great way to get in touch with the source!
Meditation helps you to get in touch with your spirit, the source. Being calm and listening to the silence can help you to use your mind to direct your energy where you want it to go. Meditation is the progressive quieting of the mind until it reaches the realm of pure consciousness.
Today many people recognize that the most fundamental level of nature is the gap between vibrations, it’s the gap between thought, and it’s the gap between frequencies of information and energy. This is a realm of infinite possibilities where everything is connected to everything else.
There are many kinds of meditation; mantra meditation, primordial sound meditation and transcendental meditation. These forms all involve sound and the sense of hearing. But you can reach this level through any one of the five senses. You can meditate with sight by using yantras or transcend this world through touch, smell and even taste.
Meditation is the experience of going beyond space-time, matter, information, and cause and effect relationships, into the realm of source. Through the practice of meditation you may bring down your blood pressure, heart rate, and may elevate your immune system.
One of the easiest and most effective ways to reconnect with the source is to spend time in nature. We all are a intrinsic part of the nature, yet for most of us it has become a remote luxury. In our homes, we seldom or never have the opportunity to observe the sky. To watch the rain fall, feel a cool breeze, walk on grass, touch a flower, can all result in an instant connection with the nature. When did you last try to connect with nature on this deeper level?
“I’m there” is all about “seeing” your dream in your minds eye. Visualising. Being there, right now. The track came first, but it exudes so much joy and liveliness, almost a feeling of being driven forward towards your dream life, that we felt inspired to share the power of visualising, actualising and manifesting aspirations into reality. This is a superb song to enjoy whilst driving on a motorway, it impels you to put your foot down and move forward as fast as possible. Be careful!
Visualisation is a technique that uses the imagination to make dreams come true. Used in the correct way, visualisation can improve your life and attract success and prosperity into it. This powerful force can alter your environment, circumstances and cause events to happen. By visualising a particular event, situation or object, such as a car, house, job or partner, you can attract it into your life.
So, how does it work and why? Visualisation uses the power of the mind. Thoughts, if powerful enough, are accepted by the subconscious mind, which in turn, changes the mindset and consequently, our habits and actions. This in turn, brings us into contact with the people, situations and circumstances that we have been visualising.
Thought is energy. A concentrated thought is filled with emotional energy. Thoughts change the energy around us, and bring changes to the environment. When you begin to use visualisation you may feel sceptical, and even some fear or stress. Simply acknowledge the feelings and accept that whenever you try something for the first time, it can make you nervous. More importantly, focus on what having the object feels like? How much would it mean to you to have it? Start experiencing the positive emotions as if you already had the object in your possession.
Visualising is not something that has been invented by new thought writers and positive thinkers, it is real. It’s used by successful athletes and sportsmen. You can find plenty of examples on the internet and more in countless books. NASA have used this technology with astronauts. Do not under-estimate the power of visualising! It’s free, give it a go!
Without doubt, “Dance with Gratitude” has become a favourite amongst the intonal crew. Perhaps it’s the scintillating sound produced by the guitar or the incandescent tones of the recurring melodic arrangement. Maybe it’s the fact that you can’t stop humming it throughout the day, because it has a brief, but captivating, musical phrase that becomes addictive. This song reminds you to be thankful for everything you do all day long. Feel good, to the max!
Gratitude means thankfulness. Take the time to count your blessings, notice the simple pleasures, be aware of your luck and acknowledge everything you receive. It’s about learning to live your life as if everything is a miracle and being aware of how much you’re being given. Gratitude shifts your focus from what’s missing in your life to the abundance that already exists.
When you practice gratitude, something powerful happens. Rather than going through the ups and downs, having mood swings, happy, then depressed, then happy again… we become grateful. Many people who practice daily gratitude claim that their lives have improved. They are more balanced, easier to please and they generally feel a sense of calmness and tranquility.
By being grateful you generate more energy and optimism. You’ll feel more empathetic and less vulnerable to clinical depression. Grateful people are satisfied with what they have and become less susceptible to frustration, disappointment and regret. Gratitude promotes good health. With as little as two minutes a day of gratitude you will enjoy improved physical and mental health. Expressing gratitude is one of the quickest ways to pull yourself out of a negative mood.
Being thankful or grateful instantly changes your vibrational energy to a positive one. As you increase your acknowledgement of things in your life that you can be grateful for, you automatically begin to see and create more of the same, and consequently, experience more happiness, improved health, abundance, well-being, love, joy and anything else you choose to be grateful for. Live your life with an attitude of gratitude, it will change everything.
